Other Requirements

All applicants are required to take part in a group or individual interview. Interviews usually take place once an application is received by the teacher training provider

Criminal Records Checks

All teacher training providers must check the background of any student enrolled on a course which puts them in contact with children of 18 years or under or vulnerable adults.  You must complete the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure procedure which reveals all convictions and identifies those on the Sex Offenders List. Personal details will be collected at interview and if an offer of a place is accepted the full process of checking will be initiated involving completion of a DBS Enhanced Disclosure form and a submission fee. All enrolments are conditional upon the checks being completed to the satisfaction of the University. If convictions of other matters are revealed after the enrolment and thought to be serious enough to preclude you from further study the enrolment will be terminated and you may be asked to leave the course.
