Initial Teacher Training (ITT)in Wales is provided for by three collaborative ITT centres of teacher education and the Open University.  Each centre will comprises of two ITT providers.  The structure, organisation and course portfolios of the centres will vary and will reflect the individual institutions involved.  The centres are:  

• North and Mid Wales Centre for Teacher Education, provided by Bangor University and Aberystwyth University
• South West Wales Centre for Teacher Education (SWWCTE) provided by Swansea Metropolitan University and University of Wales, Trinity St David, Carmarthen
• South East Wales Centre for Teacher Education and Training (SEWCTET)  provided by the University of Wales, Newport and the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff 

The Open University in Wales operates independently providing flexible ITT provision.
