Certificate of Higher Education Introduction to Secondary Teaching
This course is aimed at candidates who have few or no formal academic qualifications but do have a flair for Mathematics or Science and who wish to train as a secondary school teacher.
The course will prepare you to meet the entry requirements for the two year BSc degree programmes with QTS.
This course may be studied one year full-time or two years part-time. You do not have to complete an Access course beforehand to meet the entry requirements.

Prepare to Teach
A free ‘taster’ course for those considering secondary teaching as a career. The course offers flexible start and finish time, a short school placement, a school facilitator and tutor support.
At the end of the course participants should know whether they are tempermentally suited to be teachers and whether there are any gaps in their subject knowledge.
The subjects currently offered are:
Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Design and Technology, Information & Communication Technology, Music, Religious Education, Cymraeg, English.
